Buying gifts for friends and relatives can give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, but it can also occasionally feel like hard work – especially if you’re shopping for someone with very discerning tastes. However, whatever their individual interests, there’s a great selection of shopping opportunities in the UK to help you find that perfect present.

For vintage treats, Manchester and Leeds are two of the country’s most popular shopping destinations. Packed with quirky stores selling clothing and accessories from a range of eras, there’s even a choice of vintage fashion fairs to visit. These touring fairs are a great way to find unique vintage gifts that nobody else will have, whether it’s a 50s floral frock or a classic set of pearls.

If you’re keen to get out and about on the high street in search of that ideal birthday gift, there’s a range of great shopping centres across the country. In the south of the country, the Bluewater Centre in Kent and the Westfield centre in West London are packed with major department stores and high street favourites offering heaps of gift inspiration.

For Midlanders, the Bull Ring centre in Birmingham is a popular shopping choice, with plenty of tempting high-end shops to browse. Up in Manchester, the Trafford Centre remains one of the top indoor shopping spaces with its range of stylish boutiques, and – if you’re stuck for ideas – you can always opt for a Trafford Centre gift card, which will be accepted at most of the centre’s 200 stores and eateries.

Alternatively, if you’re buying for a designer clothing fanatic, pay a visit to one of the many outlet villages situated across the UK: Cheshire Oaks in the north and Bicester Village in Oxfordshire are two of the most famous, both offering a great range of high-end products at vastly discounted prices.

Wherever you take your shopping trip, a credit card or charge card is essential if you want to avoid carrying around large sums of cash. With the Platinum Card charge card from American Express, you can also earn rewards points on virtually everything you buy, which can then be redeemed in exchange for a special treat for yourself – you’ve earned it!

Love these shoes. Just drooling over the second photo but I know I’ll never be able to wear them. And I’d look ridiculous for sure. I think only models and actresses would look good wearing any one of these…

Anyway, happy weekend to you all. See you back here on Monday.

I had legit work for about two days and now it’s gone.  It was a temporary gig and one that is worthy of a mention in my resume except that, I already sent out a bunch of resumes the other week.  I hope I get lucky this second wave of job hunting.  It ain’t easy looking for work.  Well, there’s work all around but I want to connect with the best.  I know what you’d probably say.  Beggars cannot be choosers.  But believe me, being picky will turn out for the best in the long run.  Anyway, my boyfie played inventor the other day and invented an iPhone holder.  What’s next, sweetie?! An iphone speakerphone!!!

And I’m surrendering my temporary ID this week. Sad. Sad. Sad.
